SeaLift/SeaThrust LLC manufactures, markets and installs custom transom mounted hydraulic tender and personal watercraft lifts throughout the US, Canada and the Caribbean. The company also caters to the aftermarket installation of bow and stern thrusters. All manufacturing and design facilities are located in Cocoa, Florida.

Co-Founders, Carl Johns, an entrepreneur and Certified Public Accountant by education, and Steven Johns, inventor of SeaLift and marine aftermarket business owner, established SeaLift/SeaThrust in 2004. 

Steven Johns began his career in the boating industry in 1974 refurbishing and sailing a variety of watercraft. He received his 100 ton captain’s license in 1982. After years of working on boats, Steven began his career with SeaRay/Azimut delivering 40’ - 100’ yachts to dealers around the country. In 2000 the use of thrusters was only found on the larger yachts over 50’ and considered a luxury item. Steven realized that thrusters should be offered as an aftermarket item for a variety of mid-sized boats. 

After leaving SeaRay /Azimut, he started his own company specializing in the aftermarket installation of bow and stern thrusters. Steven developed special tooling and procedures that created an entire new industry. At the same time, hydraulic platform lifts were only being utilized on large yachts of over 50’. They were extremely expensive and heavy, making the platform lift impractical for smaller boats. 

Steven wanted to find a better way for boats 34’ - 50’ to launch their tender or personal watercraft. As an inventor, Steven patented his first product in 1988 and holds patent rights to many products over the years. He created a conceptual lift design and utilized a naval architect to help engineer a lift that would meet the needs of the mid-size boat owner. The results are a recently engineered, state of the art, and patent pending SeaLift.

SeaLift/SeaThrust works with each customer to design a custom made lift or install a thruster for their specific application. SeaLift/SeaThrust LLC is privately owned and operated.
